Providing Care and Dignity in Hospice and Palliative Care

When facing a serious or terminal illness, comfort, dignity, and support matter most. At Shreveport Manor, our hospice and palliative care program provides supportive care that enhances quality of life for patients facing a critical or terminal illness, with comprehensive support for both patients and their families.

Our Approach to Care

Palliative Care
Palliative care may begin immediately after diagnosis and seeks to improve quality of life for a patient with a serious illness. It works to relieve pain, symptoms, and stress while allowing the patient to maintain their desired activity level as much as possible, with special attention to psychological and spiritual needs.

Hospice Care
Beginning after treatment of the disease has ceased, hospice care addresses the patient’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs as they near the end of life. Our goal is to keep the patient as comfortable as possible while preserving their dignity and quality of life. Medicare may provide benefits for hospice care in some circumstances. See medicare.gov for more information.
